Perhaps the most famous castles of all are the ones that never existed, like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty's castles. Yet, our imagination is rooted in reality, and the fairy tale castles we all know and love have been inspired from real castles, nevertheless magical.
Princesses and kings have lived fabulous lives in these magical places. In some of them, knights have rotten in underwater prisons. Others drove their owners mad. Some are still inhabited today. But whatever their story, these castles feed our imagination, fascinate us and never seize to amaze us.
I have visited them all and loved them all. Have you visited any of these castles?

I've been to Prague. These other photos are stunning. I hope to see a few more of these castles in person one day.
I visited Windsor, Chillon and Prague castles, but I'm off to the Loire Valley next weekend to enjoy Chambord and Azay. Can't wait!

Have fun! Loire Valley castles are amazing.
I fell in love with the first castle - Azay le Rideau Castle, Loire Valley, France. The reflection of the castle is so beautiful, so scenic. I realized almost all of the castle share the similarity of cone shape roof which is just same as what we normally seen in story book.
Thanks for sharing this amazing photos. Have fun
